Instead consider the word diet as a lifestyle choice of being in command of what you eat. You can do this by picking one of the tips below as something that you can choose to do now and then do it. When you get bored with it or it becomes a habit move onto the next &#8216;decide to do&#8217; tip. The first tip to use might sound counter-intuitive but it is a really good way to scrap the traditional diet mindset.</p>
<p>Eat little and eat often </p>
<p>If you don&#8217;t eat at constant, regular intervals throughout the day, you could well disrupt your blood sugar and insulin levels. This can lead to additional fat storage and reduce your metabolic rate. Both these factors can lead to additional weight gain. So to establish your no diet diet programme eat something every few hours and never let yourself get hungry from one main meal to the next. Remember little and often may actually help you regain command of your eating habits. Because of this it is important not to skip breakfast as research proves that those who skip breakfast eat more during the rest of the day, in addition breakfast helps to kick start your metabolism.</p>
<p>When eating main meals don&#8217;t eat too much.</p>
<p>Be mindful of your portion sizes. Whatever portion size you currently have, reduce it by five percent. In reality this may make no difference to how full you feel afterwards but might impact on the amount of calories that you take in. Also by doing this consciously, you&#8217;ll start to feel better as you are taking command. Remember after a meal you should feel satisfied not bloated.</p>
<p>Clean your teeth after every main meal. </p>
<p>Do this for two reasons; firstly the action of cleaning your teeth signals the end of mealtime and prevents you from eating more; secondly cleaning your teeth changes the flavours in your mouth and over time this becomes a powerful signal that it&#8217;s time to stop eating. </p>
<p>Increase your metabolism. </p>
<p>You will know this already but research indicates that any additional exercise plays an important part in no diet weightloss. The secret is to find something small that you can do in addition to whatever you do at the moment &#8211; even something as simple as taking the stairs rather than the elevator every now and again would be a good start. Find something that works for you that you enjoy doing and go do it.</p>
<p>Four Bites And You&#8217;re Out! </p>
<p>We all eat things that we know will not help our weight for the reason that they are always the things that taste so good! So when you do have the urge to stray keep in mind that you taste 100% of the first bite; 50% the second bite; 25% the third bite; and 0% the fourth bite. That&#8217;s good, because you get all the &#8216;sugar hit&#8217; benefit from the first four bites &#8211; anything after that you won&#8217;t really taste and may simply put on weight. It&#8217;s much better to save the remainder of the chips, cookies, cakes, chocolate etc until the next time you get the urge.</p>

One day I finally accepted the fact that I was old and fat-at least that&#8217;s the way I looked. Forty-five, 5&#8217;6&#8221; and 200 lbs; I hadn&#8217;t planned it; the double chin, the big thighs, bingo wings and the Bhudda belly, they had crept up, slowly and stealthily over the years. For many, something happens when they hit their mid-forties, things that never ached before, do. Then there&#8217;s the need for glasses, we begin to feel less invincible, becoming uncannily aware of conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure and raised cholesterol. I was annoyed with myself and the way I looked, the way I felt, my gluttony was killing me, aching joints, breathlessness, lethargy, embarrassment and flagging confidence-surely there was a better life than this.</p>
<p>You&#8217;ve heard of a padded cell? Well all my cells were well and truly padded, it was like being terminal incarcerated in a cage of flab. This wasn&#8217;t living, it was dying; slowly. Something had to be done, I could see history repeating itself, my obese mother had died aged 63 from type two diabetes and I was terrified that I would go the same way. I was on a mission but where to begin? Over the years I had tried various diets, programmes and products with varying degrees of success, the one common feature was that nothing had worked long term. Sometimes I&#8217;d lost a few pounds, sometimes as much as a stone but it always found it&#8217;s way back on. I&#8217;d read success stories, women who had lost half their original body weight and kept it off; why couldn&#8217;t I? Determined to find a solution I spent weeks researching; eventually uncovering the secret to successful weight-loss, the secret that dictates whether you lose those pounds and whether they return to blight your life later. You want to know this secret?</p>
<p>Of course you do well, it&#8217;s simply this; there is no one secret, there are several essential aspects to a successful weight-loss programme, little gems that really can determine whether your achieve your goal. One of these fundamental keys is to accept that not all diets work for all people, the key to successful weight-loss is to follow the right regime for you one that you can stick to. It&#8217;s no good following a plan that has enabled your best friend to lose a stone in a month if it requires consuming foodstuffs that you don&#8217;t enjoy. <p>Promises of rapid results for very little effort and claims of &#8216;eat what you like and still lose weight&#8217; have us all too often reaching for our purses and credit cards. When starting a weight-loss regime most people don&#8217;t have a plan of action, they just enthusiastically dive in head first, following the latest fad diet recommended by a friend only to pack in a week later when they either find it too difficult to stick to or they haven&#8217;t lost what they had been promised. The first step to weight-loss success is therefore to forget fad diets and take a little time find a credible programme that suits your lifestyle, tastes and personality. Get this step right and you will experience a positive impact, not only on your quality of life but also the quantity.</p>
